How Does it Work?

Dataform Unit Tests has been designed to be as simple as possible to use. It only requires a few steps to integrate it into your GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline.

The Development Process

1. Create your Dataform Model

Make your model as usual in Dataform.

2. Write your Unit Test

In the Dataform UI, write your unit test which is in JSON format.

3. Create a Pull Request

Submitting a Pull Request with a triggering GitHub Actions workflow executes all your unit tests.

4. Check Unit Test Results

Check the results of your unit tests and validate your Dataform models work as intended.

5. Deploy your Model

If everything is all good, deploy your model into production!
